#springnorules - PICNIC

The final manicure in the Spring Thaw Nail Art Challenge is picnic.  This was probably the most difficult to do for me.  I finally decided to go with a red & white gingham table cloth and ants.  Well...the table cloth worked out pretty good, but when I tried the ant, it was horrible and I just couldn't get it to work.  So...I went with random dots.

I used Loaded Lacquer's Coconut, OPI's Red Hot Rio, Sally Hansen's White On and Orly's Goth.

This concludes the no rules Spring Thaw Nail Art Challenge.

Loaded Lacquer's Fade to Pink & Toasted Marshmallow

Fade to Pink is a clear based glitter polish with holographic gunmetal hex, metallic gunmetal hex, cotton candy pink dots and hex, watermelon dots and hex in multiple sizes.  Toasted Marshmallow is a sheer grey jelly polish.  Sally Hansen's Triple shine in Reef-Raf is on my index and baby fingers.

If you are looking for some unique and high quality polish that is easy to work with, I would recommend taking a look at Loaded Lacquer.  They can be found here.

#springnorules - BUTTERFLY

Butterfly is the 13th manicure in The Spring Thaw Nail Art Challenge.  The most familiar butterfly in North America is the monarch.  It has predominately orange wings, but some have a slight ombre yellow effect.

I used Essie's Fear or Desire, Sally Hansen's White Out, Orly's Goth and OPI's Copa-cabana.

Last but not least the final mani is Picnic.  Here is the schedule for the challenge, if you are interested...remember no rules!

#springnorules - RAINBOW

Rainbow is the 12th manicure in The Spring Thaw Nail Art Challenge.  I was going to re create a previous manicure but decided not to.  I just wasn't feeling anything else so I went very simple with this one.  I used OPI's Red Hot Rio, OPI's I Just Can't Copa-cabana, Essie's Fear or Desire and Essie's Mojito Madness.

Up next is Butterfly.  Here is the schedule for the challenge, if you are interested...remember no rules!

#springnorules - BUNNIES

The 11th day of the Spring Thaw Nail Art Challenge is Bunnies.  I decided to attempt only one bunny per hand (you should see the bunny on my right hand.)

I used China Glaze's Unrefined, Zoya's Dehlia, Glitter Lamb's My Heart Belongs to Jesus and finally three from Sally Hansen in White On, Black Out & Bubblegum Pink.

Check out Glitter Lambs Etsy store here!

#springnorules - EASTER EGG

The 10th day of the Spring Thaw Nail Art Challenge is Easter Egg.  My nail art mojo seems to have flown out the window.  I attempted a few easter egg creations...most a failure!

For my speckled easter eggs I used Essie's Cascade Cool, China Glaze's At Vase Value, Sinful Colors Beverly Hills, Revlon's Buttercup and Maybelline Clearly Spotted.  To top it off I used a matte topcoat, which actually gives that egg texture.

Here are a couple that just didn't do it for me!

Up next is Bunnies.  Here is the schedule for the challenge, if you are interested...remember no rules!

#springnorules - GRASS

Grass is the 9th manicure in the Spring Thaw Nail Art Challenge.  The grass is finally showing here, albeit brown...all too soon it will need cutting!

This is my version of a sugar spun manicure using 3 shades of green.  I used Relvon's Posh, Essie's Mojito Madness and the wonderful new China Glaze polish in Grass is Lime Greener.  A tutorial can be found here.

Yikes look at those bubbles from my top coat :(

Jelly Sandwich With a Flower Instead of Glitter !!

This is a jelly sandwich with a flower instead of glitter, using Loaded Lacquer's Pomegranate.  I started with a coat of Pomegranate, then created a flower with dots using Orly's Goth & OPI's I Just Can't Cope-acabana.  Then I applied another thin coat of Pomegranate.  I also tried a matte top coat after and I think it really creates a cool effect.

This is such a cool technique.  I first tried this during the #31DC2013 with a teal green here.
