Today is the final day of the #30daysofcolourchallenge for May and this is a beauty of a polish...it is Avelon from aEngland's Mythicals Nail Varnish collection.  This royal purple-blue has a wonderful formula, opaque with 2 coats.  So sparkly, you can't stop looking at it, especially in the sun!

My favourite technique for nail art is a dotticure.  There are such beautiful designs you can make with just some simple dots. I saw a picture of a blue morpho butterfly and loved the colours.  This mani was inspired by this beautiful butterfly!  I used Essie's Blanc, Essie's Strut Your Stuff, Orly's Prince Charming and OPI's Who Are You Calling Bossy.

This is a month long swatch challenge for May, a total of eleven manicures!

Today is indie and or freehand.  Loaded Lacquer is a very popular indie brand and this is Condemned. It is a black jelly-based linear holographic with yellow microflake glitter.  I achieved complete opacity with 2 coats.  I love this!!

Today's manicure is a creme and or colour blocking.  I decided to go with creme and I chose my favourite colour!  This is  OPI's I Lost my Bikini in Molokini, a beautiful medium purple.  It is from the 2015 Hawaii Spring collection and has an excellent formula; it was opaque with 2 coats.

This is a month long swatch challenge for May, a total of eleven manicures!

Today's mani choices are matte and or stamping.  Stamping is not my thing...I should probably do some practicing.  I like matte with certain colours and I think OPI's No Room For The Blues is one of them. It was originally a part of the 2009 Bright Pair from Paige Denim collection, but is now part of the core collection.   I just used Essie's Matte About You to make it matte ;)

May #30DaysofColourChallenge - HOLO/WATER MARBLE

This is a month long swatch challenge for May, a total of eleven manicures!

Today's manicure is holo and or water marble.  I don't like doing water marble at all...to me it just seems like a messy waste of time.  Some people do it beautifully, not I.  So here is my linear holographic...it is KB Shimmer's PT Young Thing and it is part of the 2014 Early Summer collection.  It was opaque is just about one coat, but as always I did two.  It is gorgeous!!

This is a month long swatch challenge for May, a total of eleven manicures!

Today is white or leadlighting manicure...I had to do some research as to what the heck leadlighting was and learned that it was involved;)  I decided to just go with white.  This is OPI's Solitaire and is part of the 2013 Bond Girls collection.  It has a white liquid sand formula with silver glitter.  It kind of reminds me of snow in the sun.  It was opaque with 2 thin coats and I didn't use top coat, I like the textured look of this polish.

May #30DaysofColourChallenge - GREEN/GRADIENT

This is a month long swatch challenge for May, a total of eleven manicures!

Today is Green and or Gradient.  I keep my nails short so it is difficult to do a gradient, so I selected green and I used some OPI Pure Lacquer Nail Apps in Fishnet.  I have never really used nail strips until last week so it took me a bit to figure out the best way to apply them.  These are real nail polish stickers and I found them easier to use than ones that aren't really nail polish.  These are such fun and  pretty aqua stickers!

Jamberry 'Burberry' Inspired Nail Stickers

I was kindly sent some Jamberry Nail Strips by Katherine LaVergne.

I chose to do a couple of accent nails on my ring and middle fingers.  I really like Burberry pattern, so I selected the Burberry inspired strips.  I used OPI's You're So Vanilla on my index finger and OPI's Lost on Lombard on pinky finger.

I had no real problems applying the strips or removing them.  My only complaint is that they were somewhat transparent...if I had long nails, my visible nail line would have shown.  I guess a base coat could be applied, but not sure if the strips would adhere to nail polish.

I got about 5-6 days of wear before they started to lift, so I removed them.  I would use these again as an accent nail/nails.

This is a month long swatch challenge for May, a total of eleven manicures!

Today's manicure is purple and or dry brush.  I decided to do both, using a base of OPI's Lost My Bikini in Molokini, then dry brushing with Essie's Under Where and OPI's Push and Pur-Pull.  It kind of looks like marble.
