L'Oreal's Royally Yours

Royally Yours from L'Oreal is a beautiful pastel powder blue creme from the last year's Spring collection.  What a fabulous formula...2 coats and it was completely opaque and no streaking.

An absolutely beautiful Spring colour!!!

Beyond the Nail's Chew On This

Chew on This is a pale pink pastel crelly-based glitter with white bar glitter and grey, purple & pink hex glitter. I laid a foundation of OPI's Mod About You to brighten it up so it would look a bit better on me.  Great application!

#springnorules - GRASS

Grass is the 9th manicure in the Spring Thaw Nail Art Challenge.  The grass is finally showing here, albeit brown...all too soon it will need cutting!

This is my version of a sugar spun manicure using 3 shades of green.  I used Relvon's Posh, Essie's Mojito Madness and the wonderful new China Glaze polish in Grass is Lime Greener.  A tutorial can be found here.

Yikes look at those bubbles from my top coat :(

Up next is Easter Egg.  Here is the schedule for the challenge, if you are interested...remember no rules!

#springnorules - SPRING DOTTICURE !!

Spring Dotticure is the second manicure of the Spring Thaw Nail Art Challenge!  I love my dotting tools, you can do so much with a simple dot!  I used OPI's Just Can't Cope-acabana and Essie's Mod Square & Bikini so Teeny.

Beyond the Nail's Birthday Celebration

Birthday Celebration is like a glitter party on your nails.  It's a milky white crelly-based polish with different shaped green, blue, purple, orange, pink, red, and yellow glitter.  I applied 3 coats to achieve opacity.  There was no glitter fishing necessary, so it was easy to work with.

Pretty Polish Tag

I was trolling checking out You Tube and came across the Pretty Polish Tag on Evebelievebeauty & Lindsay Does Nails (check them out).  I thought I would give it a shot 'blog style' :)

1. When it comes to colors, are you conservative or hot mama?

I love all colours, nail art and of course glitter, so I guess I am a hot mama B-)

2. Are you a drug store junkie or high end diva?

I love a 'good' polish regardless of price and if I can find a deal, all the better.  But, sometimes you get what you pay for...you know what I mean?

3. What's your All time favorite polish to date?

This is next to impossible for me, but because I am thinking summer please I love Mint Candy Apple by Essie and for my toes China Glaze's Flop Flop Fantasy.

Right now my favourite is Payton by Zoya!

4. What's the most you've ever paid for a polish? Least?

Kozmic Colour from Dollarama for $1.00.

Deborah Lippman's Let's Go Crazy $20.00.

5. Would you consider yourself a pro painter or just an amateur?

I don't think I am a pro, but I'm not really an amateur...I don't know :|

6. What's your biggest polish pet peeve?

Nasty looking cuticles!!  Lately I have been obsessed with cuticle products.  My current favourite is Lush's Lemony Flutter.

7. What's more important...top coat or base coat?

Base coat...without a good base you won't have a good mani, IMO  But I always wear top coat :) These are the current base coats I am using.

8. Nail art- love it or leave it?

LOVE IT...I may not be an expert, but I try and always have fun with it!

9. If you could design a polish, what would you name it and what would it look like?

I would name it Halley's Comet - my daughter's name is Hailey :x  Strangely enough it would look very similar to Zoya's Payton, but lighter purple.

10. Share your best tip for the perfect manicure.

Cleaning up your cuticles.  I use acetone and an stiff eyeliner brush!

I tag everyone :)

OPI's Kiss me at Midnight

Kiss me at Midnight is part of the 2013 Mariah Carey Holiday Collection.  I have quite a few textured polishes but none like this one.  It is a frosty blue with silver and blue glitter.  It is a stunning polish and it will get used a bunch during the Holiday season as an accent, but it is a little too flashy for me and I am not sure the colour is best for my fair skin tone.  I achieved full opacity in 2 coats and it didn't stain my nails when removing!!!

I'm still looking at some of the other liquid sands in this collection.
